01. Brief
Whisbear is the company behind a revolutionary teddy bear which helps babies sleep.
The project kicked off with two initial meetings with the client and set up the baseline. The client was looking for a website with an e-shop built-in.
In these initial meetings I gathered the requirements, but mostly I aimed at understanding the theme and the philosophy of Whisbear: a company set up by two mothers in Poland who wanted to help their babies sleep better, by using teddy bears with a simple built-in white noise mechanism
02. User research
In the project’s initial phases I met with the client face-to-face on a weekly basis. I conducted interviews to determine what the target audience of the website and e-shop would be, but also to understand in depth the philosophy of the company.
Based on initial interviews, I established personas and customer journeys. I asked the client to send me websites they liked, as inspiration, and based on all the above, I did a series of wireframes.
03. Wireframes and UI
I met up with the project’s stakeholders bi-weekly to ensure the visuals and the theme were going to the right direction. I did four iterations, till both sides agreed on the layout. An initial testing period was established to make sure that the page loading, content and user experience were smooth and easy, both for desktop and mobile.
The green light was given for the project to move forward after approximately three months of work.
04. Colours and typography
Color theme
Whisbear’s colour theme is light and playful. A lot of photos related to them (provided by the customer) gave the website a professional look.
Typography
The font of the website is Open Sans – a clear sans-serif font, easy to understand and widespread used. A good choice both for desktop and mobile.
